Majuli Island-
Majuli island is world's largest river island located 12 kms from Jorhat in the middle of river Brahmaputra . There is regular ferry service from Neamati Ghat to the island. The main attraction of Majuli is its Satras. Majuli is famous for satras only, there are 665 Satras in Assam ; out of them 65 satras are situated in Majuli.

Majuli is creation of the master creator & moulder, God himself. The sublime and serene atmosphere of the island provides a perfect environment in which the soul combines with elements. This has provided the back drop for the historic "Moni Kanchan Sanjog" between Assam 's pioneer Vaishnavite Saints Shankerdeva and his disciple Madhabdeva in the 15th century.
